Institutions in the education sector and the knowledge and information industries are being challenged as never before to enhance their capacity to support creativity and facilitate learning. This challenge motivated leaders in the field of curriculum and teaching, organizational leadership, adult learning, educational technology, psychology, and sociology to establish a unit at Teachers College dedicated to working in more powerful ways with client organizations.

The Collaborative Solutions Group was formed during the 2005-2006 academic year with a mandate to bring the resources of the College as represented by the Gottesman Libraries and the faculty to bear on a range of educational issues. From the outset the CSG has worked to develop processes to strengthen collaborative relationships within both client work groups and between client groups and the Teachers College community.
